a talented and motivated R\&D Electrical Engineer with expertise in low voltage LV and medium voltage MV power systems to join our dynamic team The successful candidate will drive the design development and testing of innovative power system solutions contributing to the advancement of next generation energy technologies This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles hands on experience with LVMV systems and a passion for research and innovation Key Responsibilities Design and Development Design simulate and develop electrical systems and components for low voltage up to 1kV and medium voltage 1kV38kV applications ensuring compliance with industry standards eg IEEE IEC ULPrototyping and Testing Build and test prototypes of power system components including transformers switchgear circuit breakers and control systems to validate performance and reliabilityResearch and Innovation Conduct research to explore new technologies materials and methodologies to improve efficiency safety and sustainability of LVMV power systemsCollaboration Work closely with cross functional teams including mechanical engineers software engineers and product managers to integrate electrical systems into broader product designsDocumentation Prepare technical reports design specifications and documentation to support product development regulatory approvals and intellectual property filingsStandards and Compliance Ensure all designs and processes adhere to safety environmental and regulatory standards including NEC NEMA and OSHA requirementsTroubleshooting Diagnose and resolve technical issues in power systems during development testing and field implementation phasesQualifications Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or minimum of 8 years of qualified work experience may be substitutedMinimum of 5 years of experience in R\&D or design of low voltage andor medium voltage power systemsStrong background in control system design using SolidWorks ElectricalProven track record in designing and testing electrical components such as transformers switchgear or power distribution systemsExperience with power electronics protection systems and control systems is a plusStrong understanding of power system components including circuit breakers relays and busbarsFamiliarity with industry standards eg IEEE IEC UL NECProficient in using CAD tools SolidWorks Electrical for wiring schematics and panel layout designExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast paced environmentPreferred Qualifications Masters degree is preferredExperience with renewable energy integration eg solar wind energy storage microgrids into LVMV systemsFamiliarity with smart grid technologies or IoT applications in power systemsProfessional Engineer PE license or equivalent certificationPhysical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a timeProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerWork Environment May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities in offices in multiple shops and in commercial buildings Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods The above noted job description is not
