Job Functions

* Improve or develop new transmission component and sub-system designs per ATI Best Practices
* Design new part concepts in CAD, review FEA results and make design judgements based on those results. Components may include shafts, gears, housings, clutches, and other powertrain components.
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of new designs and modifications to components and sub-systems
* Support and resolve component non-compliance requests, durability issues, and other field issues.
* Develop appropriate DVP\&R elements to validate the product and execute to completion.
* Execute DFMEA/PFMEA analysis
* Develop Bill of Materials
* Develop a solid understanding of the manufacturing and assembly impacts to design.
* Work with suppliers, Purchasing, and Supplier Quality Engineers to support cost reduction, sourcing decisions, and design changes.
* Execute other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 2 years of engineering experience
* Ability to read and interpret component drawings
* Knowledge of material science
* Experience in transmission design and powertrain integration as well as other analytical software (AMEsim, MATLAB, etc.) and material processing preferred
* Excellence in written and spoken English
* Proficiency in MS Office applications
* Planning and organizational skills
