ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch land and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond As the partner of choice for critical space missions Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24 hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing Headquartered in north Austin Texas Firefly is looking for passionate hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space This position is in the Environmental Test Lab in Leander TX SUMMARY We are looking for an Environmental Test Engineer to join the Launch Integration and Test department at Firefly Aerospace In this role you will be an integral part of Test Team developing test plans designing test fixtures managing the performanceexecution of tests for product development acceptance and qualification The candidate must be a self starter who works well in a team environment and has excellent interpersonal skills The candidate will form an integral part of a team of engineers and technicians that will be a focal point for the company The candidate will be expected to learn the testing processes apply their knowledge maintain good record keeping and have good working relationships with team members RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with test planning set up and execution of launch vehiclespacecraft component testingAuthor and review test proceduresReview finalized test data and report packages ensuring compliance with requirementsExecute corrective actionsDrive test readiness reviews debriefs and technical meetingsImplement continuous process and facility improvementsWork with the team to identify and fix issues found in test resultsQUALIFICATIONS Required BS in EngineeringKnowledge of LabView softwareAble to interpret hardware schematics and utilize lab test equipment oscilloscopes instrumentation DAQ systemsStrong documentation and communication skillsDesired LabView Programming skills3 D modeling skills for fixture designExperience testing to MIL STD 810G MIL STD 461E SMC S 016 or other rigorous environmental testing and screening standardsNegotiating compliance and conformance with external governing agenciesDirect experience with range safety agenciesExperience with designing test racks and rack enclosuresFirefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees including generous health dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles parental leave educational reimbursement short term disability and flexible PTO options To conform to US Government space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ITAR you must be a US citizen lawful permanent resident of the US protected individual as defined by 8 USC 1324ba3 or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the US Department of State Firefly Aerospace Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Firefly is governed based on merit competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race color religion gender national originethnicity veteran status disability status age sexual orientation gender identity marital status mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status
