Job Description

ENGINEERReports to Chief Operating Engineer position is Non Exempt WHAT YOU WILL NEED Minimum of two 2 years of experience in building maintenance; previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience at an establishment such as apartment complex or office buildingBasic knowledge of refrigeration systems electricity HVAC and plumbing certifications are a plusProficiency of the English language in reading writing and verbal communicationAbility to sit stand and walk for extended periods bend climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work by yourself lead yourself make it countAbility to work varied shifts that may include days nights weekends and holidaysWHAT YOU WILL DO Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environmentResponsibilities include maintaining all equipment systems and building components including but not limited to mechanical and electrical systems pumps HVAC refrigeration plumbing locks furniture paint wall coverings tile and other equipmentHandle routine maintenance repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms public spaces event space outlets back of house spaces and groundsDemonstrate familiarity with the hotels safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotelParticipate in the room preventative maintenance programUse your skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repairRepair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as neededMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policiesservice proceduresstandards; Participate in all scheduled training classes and meetingsTransport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairsAssist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions mattresses tables chairs etcCommunicate with Chief Operating Engineer on projects as assignedRespond to all guest requests in a timely and personable mannerWHATS IN IT FOR YOU Paid time off 401K with company match up to 2 Free shift meal prepared by our in house culinary experts Medical Dental Vision insurance effective 60 days after your hire date
