**About the Role**

We're looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our manufacturing team with a focus on continuous improvement --- not new machine design, but optimizing and upgrading the equipment we already run. You'll work hands-on with production machinery, conduct time studies, identify bottlenecks, and drive practical improvements that increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve safety on the plant floor.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to apply strong engineering fundamentals in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment --- working directly with operators and maintenance teams while building expertise in Lean/CI methodology.

**What You'll Do**

* Conduct time studies and process observations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
* Support upgrades and modifications to existing production machinery (not new equipment design)
* Analyze cycle times, throughput, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data
* Partner with operators and maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend solutions
* Assist in implementing Lean/Kaizen initiatives, 5S, and root cause analysis on the production floor
* Document standard work procedures and process changes
* Support capital projects related to machine upgrades and retrofits
* Track and report on improvement project outcomes (cost savings, cycle time reduction, downtime reduction)

**What We're Looking For**

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable being hands-on in a plant/production environment
* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process improvement concepts
* Basic understanding of mechanical systems, GD\&T, and CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) a plus
* Strong communication skills --- you'll work directly with operators, maintenance, and plant leadership
* Self-starter who's curious, detail-oriented, and eager to drive improvements on the floor, not just in an office

**Preferred (Not Required)**

* Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
* Exposure to time study methodology, work measurement, or industrial engineering principles
* Six Sigma Green Belt (or in progress)
