Quality Engineer assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements internal quality assurance and quality control activities customer concerns process control plans and supplier quality issues Performs quality engineering work to evaluate manufacturing processes or performance improvement projects for optimization Duties also may include the development of processes to ensure quality cost and efficiency requirements are met Key Responsibilities They work to find defects determine the causes of those defects and provide solutions to detect problemsDesigns installs and evaluates quality assurance process sampling systems procedures and statistical techniquesDesigns or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment Analyzes production and service limitations and standards Recommends revision of specificationsFormulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and proceduresMay conduct training on quality assurance concepts and toolsInterfaces with all other engineering functions within an organization and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues Monitoring and analyzing quality performanceInspecting and testing materials equipment processes and products to ensure quality specifications are metCollaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvementsInvestigating and troubleshooting product or production issuesDeveloping corrective actions solutions and improvements in Procurement Design and Customer SatisfactionReviewing specifications and processes Implementing methods to inspect test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes products and production equipmentMaking sure processes adhere to quality standardsPreparing reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing dataInitiating and managing Corrective and Preventive Action CAPA requests Supplier Corrective Action Requests SCAR Non Conformance NC reports Deviation requests and Short Ship documentation ensuring proper approvals and timely closurePerforms other job related duties as assignedQualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering quality assurance or a similar roleA bachelors degree in electrical Industrial or mechanical engineering or the equivalent work experienceStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work well under pressureAbility to be flexible with your schedule as work hours will be based on business needsMust have a valid drivers licensePreferred Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical switchgear manufacturing preferredPhysical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a timeProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerTravel possible to other company facilities to support quality needs and requirements as directed by the Quality Manager Will travel to suppliers as needed to support supplier quality issues and resolutionsWork Environment May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities in offices in multiple shops
