Civil Engineer I/II - Permits

Job Description

Job Duties

* Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks.
* Reviews and recommends approval of plans submitted with permit applications for underground utility installation, construction by other governmental units, and plans for all permit paving.
* Reviews associated drainage.
* Attends numerous meetings with other Road Commission departments and various outside governmental and private agencies relative to permit activities.
* Performs field reviews of proposed construction sites for permit work.
* Reviews and processes residential driveway permit applications.
* Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
* Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
* Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.

Special Experience/Education

* A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
* A minimum of three (3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described above is required.
* Experience with Bluebeam and CityWorks is preferred.
* Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver's License.
