**Position Title:** Senior Engineer, Server Technologies (Windows)

**Reports to:** Technology Manager, Infrastructure Hosting Services

**++MAIN PURPOSE++**

* The Senior Engineer -- Server Technologies will be responsible for design, implement and maintain a best in class Global Server Operating System and Services.
* This role plays a crucial role in driving the Orbia's Server technology strategy; lay down the technology road map; development of best practices / guidelines; automation of operational tasks and services.
* This role involves close collaboration with peers to deliver on ideas to develop the best in class On-Prem and Cloud Server Hosting services which is scalable, agile and resilient.
* Role will be responsible for engaging across Compute and Cloud technology platforms, working at the intersection of technology and business strategy, leading organizational, operational and technology change now and in the future
* The role works closely with a wide range of IT stakeholders, Partners (eg. Vmware, Nutanix, Redhat, Microsoft), Application developers across Orbia Globally and each Business group.
* The role requires proven track record in the delivery of platform strategy, advancing the business and technology product roadmap.
* This role will play a critical role in the evolution of Orbia's Cloud strategy, responsible for providing technical solution Architecture, working with Shared Services staff, analyzing requirements, outlining and communicating proposed solutions and enabling our business and technology partners to succeed across Compute and in the Cloud.

**++MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES++**

As a Senior Engineer, this role provides support for implementation and design services for Infra Hosting Services at On-prem and Cloud. Acts as an subject matter expert in case of escalation for support issues.

* Define the target state architecture for the Compute and Cloud construct leveraging Linux and Windows Operating Systems, optimizing the business value, delivering best-in-class solutions for today's and tomorrow's needs.
* Provide Solutions design and support for the Global Infrastructure projects, ensuring that the Orbia's standards and cybersecurity blueprints are effectively leveraged.
* Collaborate with engineers across Global IT Domains and the Shared Services, aligning cross-functional and cross-product requirements, ensuring they are secure, technically sound and fiscally reasonable.
* Engagement with senior stakeholders across all technology lines of business, ensuring adherence to the division's plans and expected outputs, while fostering an environment of collaboration and shared success
* Provide guidance around adoption and influence product development teams on roadmaps and design.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects and interact daily with System Administrators.
* Maintain a strong learning aptitude and ability to learn new technologies independently.
* Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives.
* Support business and technology strategy and planning by leveraging knowledge in both technical and business areas

**++EDUCATION++**

Minimum: Bachelor degree

Desirable: Master's degree in Computer science, Engineering or Business preferred

**++KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED++**

**Expert knowledge in the following areas:**

* Architecture/Design concepts: client/server, n-tier, design patterns, cloud
* Design for production: resilience, scalability, availability, performance, security, etc.
* In-depth understanding of the Linux, Windows Server Operating System along with a good working knowledge of Virtualization technologies.
* Good understanding of Web Services, Messaging, Datastores, Networking, Storage
* Continuous Integration, OS Images and Builds, deployment and release processes knowledge
* Cloud Computing Fabrics knowledge / PaaS - AWS, Azure, Cloud Foundry etc.
* Knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure virtualization, Cloud adoption, VMWare, Microsoft Virtualization solutions.

**Proficiency in understanding and supporting following areas:**

* Broad understanding of the technologies utilized across the CI/CD, SRE and public cloud domains, ability to rationalize and assess pros and cons of solutions and technical alternatives
* Good understanding of the latest security principles like zero trust and passwordless authentication to employ new standards in the authentication model
* Understanding of best practice within Information Security and risk management including standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, Cyber Essentials and NIST;
* Ability to learn, grow and take on expanded duties as business needs evolve
* Expertise working in an Agile project environment and the ability to operate development and architecture discussion forums, through a deep understanding of current tools and techniques

**++EXPERIENCE REQUIRED++**

* 10 years of experience overall
* 5 years of experience designing, implementing enterprise server solutions and services in related /similar environments
* B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related IT work experience in a global information technology environment
* Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential, to explain and influence both business and technical stakeholders and partners at all levels
* Proven ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and drive multiple agendas in a fast-paced and constantly changing environments
* Highly driven and results orientated: Drives results through people, communication, influence and interaction
* Strong ability to know your audience and structure communication and presentations to Orbia application owners, and senior leadership on aspects of complex technical scenarios while maintaining appropriate functional and technical level for the audience
* Assess issues/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
* Able to deal with ambiguity and make expert judgments in situations where no precedent exists
