Assembly Manufacturing Launch Engineer

Own the transformation from concept to stable, high-volume assembly. You will integrate equipment, craft lean processes, and lead cross-functional teams to flawless start-of-production while relentlessly improving safety, quality, and efficiency.
Your impact
- ----------
* Engineer complete production systems for new programs: map flows, select equipment, and model labor
* Write standard work, define assembly sequences, and deploy error-proofing
* Design plant/line layouts that minimize waste and maximize flow
* Lead manufacturing readiness gates and orchestrate launch activities
* Plan and manage equipment installation, relocation, and validation
* Serve as project lead for capital equipment and facility improvements
* Collaborate with suppliers/vendors to lock scope, review specs, and complete pre-shipment validations
* Use 8D and root cause methods to troubleshoot issues and restore output
* Drive measurable gains in throughput, quality, and labor utilization
* Control Engineering Change and coordinate cross-functional implementation
* Apply AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) at each program phase
* Support maintenance planning and reliability programs; lead or coordinate maintenance tasks as needed
* Travel to customer and supplier facilities for launches, audits, and validations
* Mentor early-career engineers and champion safety-first design
What you need to excel
- ---------------------
### Required
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
* Experience in manufacturing or assembly engineering
* Deep familiarity with production systems and equipment
* AutoCAD proficiency and use of standard engineering toolsets
* Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
* PLC programming and troubleshooting competency
* Vendor/supplier/contractor management experience
* Excellent communication and leadership on the production floor
### Preferred
* 3--5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
* Automotive or high-volume assembly exposure
* Background with robotics, automation, or controls
* Maintenance leadership or planning
* Lean or Six Sigma
* Capital project and equipment installation work
Compensation
- -----------
* $85,000 to $100,000+/year - based on experience
*Candidates with significant manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.*
