About Atlas Atlas is a trusted leader in environmental and infrastructure consulting services; we provide services that enable communities to flourish and thrive With a team of 3500 employees and offices throughout the US we combine local expertise and a network of relationships to deliver solutions to both public and private clients Our services help improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work We always aim for smart safe and sustainable results At Atlas we understand that our future is everyones responsibility and we create a better experience at every stage of a project Job Description We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer EIT to join our Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing CMT team This role is ideal for an early career engineer looking to build hands on experience in geotechnical investigations laboratory testing and construction material testing \& quality assurance while working toward PE licensure under the mentorship of senior staff You will support field exploration field testing lab testing \& analysis and proposalfee and report preparation for a variety of public and private sector projects including highway municipal utilities and commercial developments projects Core Responsibilities Assist with planning and execution of geotechnical field investigations including soil borings sampling and in situ testingPerform materials testing and QAQC for soils concrete asphalt and aggregate on active construction projectsCoordinate with drilling crews technicians and construction personnel to ensure project schedules and quality standards are metLog and classify soil and rock samples in accordance with ASTMAASHTO standardsOversee typical geotechnical laboratory testing and conduct advanced Geotechnical laboratory testingAnalyze field and lab data to support geotechnical engineering recommendationsAssist in preparing geotechnical data and engineering reports and construction observation reports under the direction of a licensed PESupport design tasks for foundation retaining structures earth work and pavement as directedMaintain accurate field documentation daily reports and testing recordsAssist in preparing geotechnical and CMT service proposals including scope fee and schedule inputsTravel to projectjob sites as needed including some regional travelYoull thrive here if you have Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical emphasis preferred from an ABET accredited program 13 years of relevant geotechnical andor CMT experience Engineer in Training EIT certification required or passed FE exam and actively pursuing EIT Working knowledge of ASTMAASHTOTxDOT testing standards and methods Familiarity with soilrock classification and basic geotechnical engineering principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
