Job Description

**Position Purpose/Summary**

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for design, development, implementation, analysis of the design and project management of engineering systems.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Client satisfaction and design vision met
* Interfaces with client.
* Responsible for all aspects of engineering design, specific to the discipline of HVAC engineering, within designated projects.
* Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to the discipline of HVAC engineering.
* Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.
* Design standards, local codes and guidelines are met for quality documents
* Prepares drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
* Prepares technical construction specifications.
* Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
* Conducts surveys to gather field data.
* Mentor designers
* Coordinates the activities of the engineering design team.
* Provide mentoring to other staff members as directed.
* Minimize rework
* Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality.
* Performs field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.

**Secondary Duties and Responsibilities**

* Supports systems commissioning activities including design reviews, energy conservation measure development, site visits, and functional test development and execution.
* Assist with project schedules and assign work to team as needed.
* Assist with project budget and fees as needed.
* Deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences as required as part of the design process.
* Promote company reputation through good client relations.
* May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
