**Staff Software Engineer, Blockchain \& Payments Infrastructure Remote (US)** \| Must have significant Pacific Time (PT) overlap

We're partnering with a global financial technology company building the infrastructure behind the new internet of money. Their blockchain-based dollar and payments platform powers commerce, transfers, and financial applications for businesses, institutions, and developers worldwide, and they're hiring across multiple engineering teams. This is a backend-heavy Staff-level role for engineers who want to own systems that genuinely move value at scale.

**What you'll be doing**

You'll extend in-house blockchain systems infrastructure and own scalable microservices responsible for secure, reliable APIs that transfer value and assets across blockchain and traditional banking protocols. You'll build publicly accessible APIs that make it simple for developers to integrate with complex payment systems, integrate platform services with leading banks and financial technologies, and collaborate closely with product and engineering on architecture, system design, and quality standards. Multiple teams are hiring: liquidity, developer platform and Web3 services, payments network, payments, core protocols, stablecoin operations, and more.

**What they're looking for**

* 7+ years of professional software development in object-oriented languages; deep Java expertise is the primary requirement. Go is used but secondary. C#/Microsoft-centric backgrounds are not a fit.
* Technical leadership of teams larger than four engineers on architecture and system design decisions
* Expert-level depth in at least one of API design, payments processing, or blockchain
* Strong RESTful API design and development fundamentals
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS), and SQL schema design
* CS degree or closely related field (or foreign equivalent)
* Web3, blockchain, and smart contract business logic experience is a real requirement here, not a plus
* Must be US-based with meaningful Pacific Time availability. This team operates on PT and overlap is a real requirement, not a preference.

**Compensation**

$172,500 - $250,000 base + 10-15% annual bonus + RSU grant (in the range of $800k to $1M vesting over four years). Equity and total compensation are highly flexible for the right person.
