Junior Mechanical & Product Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a **Junior Mechanical \& Product Design Engineer** to join our team in Kfar Saba.

This is an opportunity to develop your expertise in mechanical and product design while gaining hands-on exposure to the intersection of **mechanics, electronics, hardware, and software**. You will work closely with experienced engineers and gradually take ownership of the physical design and quality of our network connectivity products, ensuring seamless integration with our intelligent hardware and software platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- -------------------

### Mechanical \& Product Design

* Design high-density copper panels, fiber trays, and smart physical enclosures using **3D CAD tools, primarily SolidWorks**.
* Prepare detailed **manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions** for production and manufacturing partners.
* Support material selection and evaluate manufacturing processes, including **sheet metal fabrication and plastic injection molding**.
* Participate in prototyping, design improvements, and troubleshooting of mechanical components.

### Hardware \& Software Integration

* Work closely with **Hardware, Electronics, and Software teams** to integrate LED indicators, smart sensors, controller cards, and other electronic components into mechanical designs.
* Gain an understanding of how physical connectivity components interact with intelligent infrastructure management systems and software platforms such as **XpedITe**.
* Develop a broader understanding of how mechanical design, electronics, and software come together in advanced data-center infrastructure.

### Cabling Standards \& Quality Assurance

* Receive structured training in global **fiber-optic (LC, MPO/MTP) and copper cabling standards**.
* Set up test environments and perform hands-on **QA testing of prototypes**, evaluating fit, durability, functionality, and performance.
* Identify design or manufacturing issues and work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

What We're Looking For

### Experience \& Technical Skills

* B.Sc. in **Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering**.
* **2--5 years of relevant experience**; strong fresh graduates with hands-on academic projects, internships, or practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
* Familiarity with **3D CAD software**, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
* Experience or orientation toward **graphic/product design** -- an advantage.
* Strong technical orientation and willingness to work hands-on with physical products and prototypes.
