### Must have:

### - We need 12+ years of software development experience. - We need 5+ years of hands-on experience with fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud architectures, including service-oriented and cloud-native services such as FaaS and PaaS on at least one hyperscaler, like AWS, Azure, or GCP. - We need the ability to build end-to-end systems for major initiatives. - We need experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native products, and scaling them into production. - We need a proactive, self-directed mindset with strong technical judgment. - We need deep experience providing detailed designs while also contributing to implementation, design reviews, and code reviews. - We need the ability to make high-quality technical decisions day to day under ambiguity, balancing performance, maintainability, cost, and time to market. - We need strong programming experience in one or more of Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Rust. - Front-end experience with TypeScript, React, or Angular is a plus. - We need the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and leadership. - We need excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, and the engineering community. - We prefer experience designing data analytics systems, data migration systems, or storage platforms. - We prefer experience with filesystems or file/cloud storage protocols, including NFS, SMB, or iSCSI. - We prefer experience building developer-facing products, APIs, or SDKs used by external customers at scale. - We prefer experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation. - We prefer prior experience as a technical lead in a high-performance engineering organization. - We need a bachelors degree in a technical field such as engineering. - A masters degree in a technical field such as engineering or software development is preferred and may offset some of the additional experience required.

- We lead and execute our most complex and challenging engineering initiatives. - We work across AWS, Azure, and GCP to deliver innovative solutions. - We own the architecture for our Cloud Storage organizations new initiatives. - We break down complex problems into simple, practical solutions. - We evaluate cloud architecture, performance, scalability, engineering best practices, and testing approaches. - We design distributed systems and cloud-native products that can be scaled to production. - We provide detailed technical designs and contribute to implementation, design reviews, and code reviews. - We make sound technical trade-offs under ambiguity and choose execution paths the team can deliver. - We collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership partners. - We help simplify customer operations for cloud-native applications and contribute to the development of best-in-class SaaS applications across multiple hyperscalers.
