Title: Electrical Engineer -- High Power Microwave \& Pulsed Power SystemsPosition Summary: We are seeking a graduate-level Electrical Engineer to support the development, integration, and testing of advanced high-power microwave (HPM) and pulsed-power systems. The engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team developing technologies associated with prime power, pulsed-power generation and conditioning, RF generation, impedance matching, transmission, and antenna systems. Responsibilities will include supporting the design, modeling, fabrication, integration, and laboratory/field testing of electrical and RF hardware, including systems utilizing conventional and explosive-driven pulsed-power technologies. The position will involve hands-on experimental work with high-voltage, high-current, fast-pulse, and high-power RF systems; instrumentation and data acquisition; analysis of test results; and troubleshooting of integrated systems. A graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is preferred, with 0--5 years of relevant professional or research experience. Experience gained through graduate research, laboratory work, internships, or government/DoD research programs involving RF, pulsed power, high-voltage systems, antennas, or electromagnetic systems is highly desirable.Primary Responsibilities:Support the design, development, integration, and testing of HPM and pulsed-power systems.Develop and evaluate prime-power, pulse-forming, power-conditioning, and impedance-matching approaches for advanced RF systems.Support integration of power sources, pulsed-power hardware, RF generators, transmission components, and antenna systems.Plan and execute laboratory and field testing of high-voltage, high-current, fast-pulse, and high-power RF hardware.Select and configure instrumentation, diagnostics, data-acquisition systems, and test equipment for transient electrical and RF measurements.Analyze experimental data, compare results with analytical or computational predictions, and identify opportunities for system improvement.Troubleshoot electrical, pulsed-power, RF, and system-integration issues during prototype development and testing.Support the design, fabrication, assembly, and modification of experimental hardware and prototype systems.Document test procedures, technical results, engineering analyses, and design recommendations.Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists from multiple disciplines to transition concepts from analysis through prototype demonstration.Required Qualifications:Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering or applied-science discipline.0--5 years of relevant professional experienceStrong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts, including circuits, electromagnetics, transmission lines, and electrical power systems.Ability to perform analytical, numerical, or computational methods.Experience working in a laboratory environment with electrical test equipment and instrumentation.Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility and willingness to perform hands-on engineering workDesired Skills:Coursework, research, or professional experience in high-power microwave systems, RF/microwave engineering, or pulsed powerKnowledge of impedance matching between prime-power sources, pulsed-power systems, RF generators, transmission structures, and antennas.Experience with RF generators, antennas, waveguides, coaxial transmission systems, or electromagnetic structures.Experience measuring high-voltage, high-current, nanosecond- or microsecond-scale transients and high-power RF signals.Experience with electromagnetic, circuit, or Multiphysics modelingExperience programming or scripting in MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, or similar environments for analysis, modeling, test automation, or data processing.Previous experience supporting DoD, government, university, or national-laboratory research and development programs is desirable. The Ideal Candidate:Is a technically curious, hands-on engineer, that is driven to achieveHas a strong interest in high-power RF, pulsed power, electromagnetics, and advanced electrical systemsDesires to work projects from fundamental research to fielded systemStrong and concise communicator capable of teaching new grads up briefing general officers and academicsFollows systematic and logical progression of research with strong documentation habitsWorks effectively in a multidisciplinary environment with electrical, mechanical, RF, energetic-materials, and systems engineers and scientists.
