**Role: Systems Engineer - Intermediate**
**Location:** ANG NOS, 52010 Jayhawk Drive, McConnell AFB, KS (telework eligible).
**Job Description:**
The Systems Engineer Intermediate will be responsible for providing high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex applications that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
This role will support the Air National Guard (ANG) enterprise network and its integration with the Air Force Network (AFNET), contributing to the overall IT infrastructure revitalization and enterprise IT initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex applications.
* Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
* Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
* Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
* Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables.
* Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams.
* Direct and participate in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases (IV\&V and DT\&E).
* Provide technical support in the development of data migration strategies and the transition of legacy data to shared data environments.
* Assist in the development of DODAF architecture Views and recommendations for system configuration management program improvements.
* Support the fielding of IT systems by defining the synchronization sequence of fielding tasks for planned IT deployments.
* Provide technical integration support for ANG stakeholders across the United States' 54 states and territories.
* Evaluate process models within a functional area to facilitate data model development and data integration.
* Develop, review, and update Independent Government Estimates (IGEs), Performance Work
* Statements (PWS), Statements of Work (SOW), and Evaluation Criteria.
* Assist in source selection advising and the development of acquisition strategies and evaluation plans.
* Participate with a team of analysts supporting ANG acquisition activities, conducting evaluations, recommending management improvements, and implementing solutions.
* Anticipate potential chokepoints and identify workarounds.
* Monitor milestone schedule execution and author/review documents as necessary.
* Provide advice and strategic planning assistance to management.
* Maintain historical acquisition documents and records.
**Position Responsibilities:**
* Conducts complex systems analysis, design, integration, and implementation under general supervision.
* Utilizes advanced administrative and technical skills, focusing on planning, analysis, evaluation, and testing phases.
* Applies high-level principles to solve challenging technical problems, creating automated solutions.
**Position Qualifications:**
* BA/BS or MA/MS degree in a relevant field / Systems Engineering, Computer Science,
* Information Technology, or a related field.
* 5 years of experience.
* Thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
* Experience in systems engineering.
* Must possess all required licenses for operating NIPR and SIPRNet.
* IAM II or III certification based on job duties and access levels at ANG NOS McConnell.
**Desired:**
* In-depth expertise in both the technical and non-technical aspects of IT capabilities.
* Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure, Unified Communication Capabilities, AFNET integration, JIE, and enterprise unique applications.
* Knowledge of DoD business transformation, DoDAF, Business Enterprise Architecture, Service
* Oriented Architecture, and related strategies.
* Ability to operate within a budget-constrained environment and understand trade-offs and risk reduction.
* Proficiency in developing and updating program and acquisition documentation under the DoD 5000 series.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
