**Role: DevOps Software Engineer - TS/SCI.**
**Location:** Bethesda, MD - 100% onsite (possibility of one day remote).
**Job Description:**
Looking for our next TS/SCI-cleared DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack in support of the DIA-NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP).
This role is part of a 10-year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you'll contribute to mission-critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented team.
While the majority of work is performed on-site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.
**What You'll Do**
As a DevOps Software Engineer, you'll help design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture. You'll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
In this fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:
* Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
* Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
* Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
* Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
* Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
* Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
* Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
**What You Bring**
You're enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds.
You also meet the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's.
* Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
* Strong Linux proficiency.
* Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
* Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
* Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
* Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
**Bonus Points**
You'll stand out even more if you bring:
* Experience operating systems at scale.
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
* Development experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.).
* Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
**Familiarity with:**
* Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
* Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
* GPU-based Kubernetes.
* SALT for deployment automation.
* Helm / Helmfile.
* Nexus.
**Security Clearance:**
* TS SCI - must be willing to get a CI (not required to start).
