We're partnering with a leading engineering and simulation technology organization seeking a **Software Engineer I** to join its growing development team in Tulsa. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software engineer looking to work on sophisticated simulation and training systems while gaining hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a passion for software development, and a desire to contribute to mission-critical systems in a collaborative engineering environment.

What You'll Do
- -------------

* Collaborate with systems, software, and project engineers to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
* Participate in software requirements definition, decomposition, and design activities.
* Analyze software and hardware interface requirements.
* Develop, test, and maintain software applications for simulation and training systems.
* Write software in **C, C++, Fortran**, and other programming languages as required.
* Work in **Linux-based development environments**.
* Perform software integration, implementation, verification, and acceptance testing.
* Troubleshoot software issues and identify effective solutions.
* Support installation, acceptance testing, and deployment of systems at customer locations.
* Work closely with software, hardware, manufacturing, and program management teams throughout project execution.
* Prepare technical documentation, specifications, reports, source code, and test procedures.
* Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout project development.

What We're Looking For
- ---------------------

### Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
* Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
* Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
* Experience or academic exposure to software design, development, debugging, and testing.
* Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software development methodologies.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

### Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with **C/C++** development.
* Exposure to **Python, C#, Fortran, Ada**, or other programming languages.
* Experience using **Linux** and Windows operating systems.
* Familiarity with source control systems such as **Git** or **Subversion**.
* Understanding of networking concepts and system integration.
* Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience involving simulation, modeling, or engineering software development.
* Experience with software development environments and tools.

Travel Requirements

* Approximately **25% travel**.
* Travel throughout the United States with occasional international travel.

* Travel may range from several days to multiple weeks and may occasionally include weekends.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport may be required.

Work Schedule
- ------------

* Standard Monday through Friday schedule.
* Flexibility to support project deadlines and customer requirements as needed.
* Occasional overtime, weekend, holiday, or alternate-shift work may be required.

Security Requirements
- --------------------

* **U.S. Citizenship is required.**
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a **U.S. Department of Defense security clearance**.
