Cables & Wiring Engineer

Job Description

Orbit Communication Systems is seeking a highly skilled Cables \& Wiring Engineer to design and implement advanced wiring solutions for our communication systems. This role requires a meticulous professional with extensive knowledge in cable engineering and a passion for innovation.
Responsibilities:

* Design and develop cable and wiring systems for communication equipment.
* Conduct simulations and testing to ensure system integrity and performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wiring solutions into products.
* Analyze and troubleshoot issues in existing wiring systems.
* Prepare technical documentation and specifications for wiring designs.

· Review, release, and maintain cable and harness documentation, including drawings, BOMs, wiring data, connector lists, assembly instructions, and inspection requirements.

· Provide technical support to production, integration teams, subcontractors, and suppliers during manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and acceptance activities.

· Review drawings and production documentation for completeness, manufacturability, testability, and alignment with approved engineering data.

· Support supplier clarifications, production feedback, alternative component reviews, FAI activities, and implementation of approved engineering changes.

· Investigate and resolve nonconformities, supplier deviations, production issues, and field findings related to cables, connectors, shielding, grounding, routing, labeling, and workmanship.

· Work closely with engineering, quality, procurement, production, suppliers, and configuration management to ensure timely and compliant delivery.

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in cable and wiring engineering.
* Proficient in CAD software and electrical design tools.
* Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
