Location Kirtland AFB NM Security Clearance This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance US Citizenship is required Target Salary Range 130000 145000 This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level years of experience andor certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary Position OverviewThe Civil Engineer will support the sustainment of mission critical facilities and infrastructure at Kirtland AFB to ensure continued mission success for the customer The position will prepare design documentation including statements of work specifications drawings sketches calculations and building code references Key ResponsibilitiesProject Lifecycle and Technical SupportServe as a Subject Matter Expert SME throughout the project lifecycle from existing conditions investigations through conceptual design and construction completionEvaluate project submittals provide technical solutions and prepare modification packagesParticipate in technical design reviews and requirements validationSupport design development analysis and review tasksProvide technical approach assessments and evaluate and recommend approval of submittalsDesign Documentation and ReviewPrepare statements of work specifications drawings sketches calculations and building code referencesReview plans and detail drawings for new construction and the maintenance removal or rearrangement of existing layouts and finishesFormulate and recommend corrective action measures including schedule revisions manpower adjustments fund allocations and work requirementsCommunication and DeliverablesPrepare and present presentations and briefings to KAFB government counterparts and clientsCapture synthesize and summarize key points from interviews focus groups and internal meetingsTranslate insights from interviews focus groups and internal meetings into draft deliverables and productsQualificationsEducationBachelors degree in civil engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology ABET RequiredExperienceMinimum of five years of relevant experience RequiredExperience working at or for a military installation is preferredCommitment and capacity to work in a collaborative environment in support of the Air Force mission and in compliance with established DoD criteria RequiredSkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro RequiredExcellent organizational and time management skills RequiredAbility to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision RequiredAbility to work with customers and coworkers in a courteous professional and effective manner RequiredLicensureHave or be able to obtain a Professional Civil Engineer License in one of the US states or territories within one year of the hire date RequiredOther RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid US drivers license RequiredMust be able to pass a drug screen RequiredCommitment to providing and maintaining a safe working environment RequiredAbility to obtain and maintain a government clearance RequiredUS citizenship is required RequiredMust obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorizations within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contracts RequiredPreferred QualificationsExperienceCurrently possess a Professional Engineer PE license in one of the US states or territoriesFive or more years of experience working in the engineering section at a major military installation preferably a US Air Force base
