EHS Engineer

Job Description

**Summary:**

To implementation and management of the Company's safety and workers compensation programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
* Develops safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications.
* Prepares and maintains all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation and acts as liaison with government agencies.
* Responsible for coordinating the medical management of Workers Compensation cases, acquiring return-to-work documentation and coordinating modified duty strategies.
* Manages distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
* Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.
* Conducts new-hire employee safety orientation.
* Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
* Additional Duties, as assigned.
