Job Description

Position SummaryProvide all design engineering drawings and documents as related to customer orders support manufacturing efforts and provide customer support on all products of the Critical Power Solutions Division CPSD Essential Functions Oversee the preparation of all technical documents ex drawings purchasing specifications Bills of Materials BOMs Instruction Book IBs etc required to support order placements manufacturingassembly operations and customer needsPrepare design direction and clarification as required to other Engineering personnel Seek and resolve of all customer technical questions as requiredWrite test scripts for and perform testing of uninterruptible supply systems and batteries in MEPPIs power labDevelop product BOMs and design drawings to support customers technical requirements and coordinate design with production purchasing quality personnelCoordinate outside design efforts of other design teams consistent with Division products and goalsDevelop and design concepts and work with other Engineering personnel to complete designs as required Assist Manufacturing Purchasing and Quality Assurance with any production problemsRecommend and implement design improvements and cost reductionsAct as project leader for all design test and prototype programs as assignedCoordinate all prototype efforts with others as neededWork with vendors to resolve any technical design issuesTravel to customers site andor trade shows to provide product support as requiredDevelop and design US components to replace imported componentsPrepare instruction books and renewal parts listsQualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3 years of experience in a design engineering capacity or equivalent education and experienceIntermediate knowledge of power electronics and power and energy systems including converters and invertorsExperience with performing measurement testing and troubleshooting of high power equipment in laboratory or field environmentsExperience with reading understanding and creating technical drawings and materialIntermediate analytical and problem solving skillsIntermediate interpersonal communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers employees and vendorsAbility to work on several projects simultaneouslyAdvanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products CAD and engineering analysis software
