Electrical Engineer EV DER \& BESS System Summary SAIs Energy Services group delivers industry leading engineering solutions for EV infrastructure and distributed energy resources As we continue to scale we are expanding our capabilities to support larger next generation energy projects This role will contribute directly to that growth and help shape the future of our engineering team This role will join a high performing engineering group and contribute directly to active project execution while also helping enhance and evolve the tools processes and standards that support SAIs continued growth The position offers the opportunity to work on advanced electrical designs collaborate with experienced engineers and external partners and play a meaningful role in strengthening a mature engineering function that is scaling to meet the demands of larger and more complex energy projects Primary Responsibilities Develop electrical Basis of Design BOD documents for external EOR firms to produce stamped designsBuild internal processes templates standards and QAQC checklists that make our engineering repeatable and more scalableReview EOR deliverables for NECNFPA 70E alignment completeness and conformance with SAI requirementsDocument decisions and technical rationale design reviews breakersetting validation utility correspondence and turnover artifactsCoordinate with EOR partners vendors and internal stakeholders to keep scope and design intent alignedSupport commissioning and safety teams in developing practical code aware proceduresManage multiple projects in a fast moving environment; prioritize effectively and communicate status clearlyResearch equipment and evaluate specifications; stay engaged with emerging technologies EV DCFC DER BESS MV distributionSkills \& Experience Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and strong technical aptitudeWorking knowledge of NEC NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E; comfortable researching and interpreting applicable sectionsExperience with power distribution and one or more of EV charging DER BESS or MV distributionAbility to work across multiple projects and collaborate with both technical and non technical teamsStrong problem solving and learning mindset; eager to take on increasing responsibilityPreferred Prior responsibility for creating BOD packages QAQC checklists and commissioning documentationExposure to arc flash documentation workflows and reviewing stamped drawings for code alignmentEITFE or PE not required; familiarity with engineering tools is a plusCompetencies Clear concise written and verbal communication; produces clean technical explanations and documentationCollaboration and interpersonal savvy; comfortable givingreceiving direction and coordinating across teamsCustomer focused judgment with practical safety first decision makingOrganized proactive and process oriented; helps establish the foundation for a growing EE teamDemonstrates curiosity initiative and a growth mindset; ready to own the electrical discipline internally over timeSAI offers competitive salary and a full benefits package including medical dental life and disability insurances flexible spending accounts 401k plan and paid time off SAI is an equal opportunity employer
