Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled **Senior Software Engineer -- Java Backend** to design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with **Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and distributed systems**.

The role also involves production ownership, incident management, system reliability, performance optimization, and collaboration with architects and cross-functional engineering teams.

**Must-Have Skills**

* **8 years of experience in Java Backend Development**

* Strong expertise in **Java (11/17 )**

* Strong hands-on experience with **Spring Boot**

* Experience with **Spring Data JPA and Hibernate**

* Strong understanding of **Microservices architecture**

* Experience developing secure and high-performance **REST APIs**

* Strong knowledge of **System Design and distributed systems**

* Experience with **Kafka, RabbitMQ**, or similar messaging platforms

* Strong hands-on experience with **SQL**

* Experience with **PostgreSQL** and/or other relational databases

* Good understanding of **NoSQL databases**

* Experience with **AWS, Azure, or GCP**

* Hands-on experience with **Docker**

* Experience with **Kubernetes / OpenShift**

* Experience with **Helm**

* Strong understanding of **JRE/JDK**

* Experience with **CI/CD and DevOps practices**

* Experience managing **production deployments and releases**

* Experience handling production incidents, including critical/Sev1/Sev2 issues

* Experience with **on-call / production support**

* Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and **observability tools**

* Strong understanding of **Agile development methodologies**

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development \& Architecture

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using **Java and Spring Boot**

* Develop robust and secure **REST APIs** and integrations

* Design and implement **Microservices-based architectures**

* Build event-driven solutions using **Kafka, RabbitMQ**, or similar technologies

* Participate in system design and architecture discussions

* Develop solutions that meet requirements for scalability, availability, performance, and security

Database \& Data Solutions

* Design and optimize data solutions using **SQL and NoSQL databases**

* Develop efficient SQL queries and database interactions

* Work with technologies such as **PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis**, etc.

* Optimize database and application performance

Cloud \& Containerization

* Deploy and manage applications across **AWS, Azure, or GCP**

* Containerize applications using **Docker**

* Deploy and operate applications using **Kubernetes/OpenShift**

* Work with **Helm** for application packaging and deployment

* Support cloud-native application environments

CI/CD \& DevOps

* Build and maintain automated **CI/CD pipelines**

* Implement automated testing and code-quality practices

* Work with tools such as **Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI**

* Follow DevOps and Agile engineering practices

* Improve deployment automation and release processes

Production Support \& Reliability

* Own production releases, deployment planning, validation, and rollback strategies

* Participate in **on-call rotations** and provide support for critical production systems

* Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs

* Handle critical **Sev1/Sev2 incidents**

* Perform **Root Cause Analysis (RCA)** and post-incident reviews

* Drive preventive and corrective actions to improve system reliability

* Monitor application health, performance, and availability

Engineering \& Collaboration

* Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices

* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical growth within the team

* Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders

* Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture reviews

* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, scalability, and performance optimization
