Who We Are Altieri has provided mechanical electrical plumbing and fire protection engineering design services to architects and building owners for 65 years We are a recognized industry leader designing exciting and high profile projects for iconic museums galleries theatre and performing arts venues higher education buildings libraries parks and historic projects around the country including Carnegie Hall NYC Domino Park NYC Gansevoort Peninsula Hudson River Park NYC The Getty Center Los Angeles The Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC Museum of Ice Cream NYC National Aquarium Baltimore The National WWII Museum New Orleans Obama Presidential Center Chicago Smithsonian National Museum of American History Washington DC Job Overview An Engineer works with more experienced engineers to design building PlumbingFire Protection systems Responsibilities and Duties System Design CalculationsProvides draft of equipment cooling load for mechanical engineersWorks with senior engineers on data room placements based on TIA standardsLearns how to model wireless access point locations based on RF signal using Ekahau or similar softwareSystem Design DraftingWorks with supervisor to layout conduit cable tray and data equipment utilizing Revit 3D softwareProduces drawing sets including but not limited to drawing notes details and single line diagramsPlaces equipment such as racks patch panels data cables ground bars and network equipmentGains understanding of different AV and IT system typesConstruction AdministrationConducts preliminary review of submittals and RFIsSustainabilityGains experience working on sustainable projectsGains familiarity with various certifications LEED etcDesign CoordinationCollaborates with fellow AV \& IT engineers within their studioLearns how other trades affect AV \& IT designsAsks meaningful questionsClient InterfaceAttends AV needs assessment with clients Provides product data referencesPresents self in a professional manner when interacting with external stakeholdersCodeReferencesFamiliarizes themselves with international and local building codesLearns IT BICSI standards and practicesLearns AV AVIXA standards and practicesAdditional tasks as requested
