Job Description

**Key Responsibilities**:

**Mechanical System Design**:

* Develop and design mechanical systems for heating, cooling, and ventilation (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical services.
* Ensure compliance with energy efficiency and sustainability standards (such as LEED or local energy codes).

**Project Collaboration**:

* Collaborate with architects, electrical and civil engineers, and construction teams to integrate mechanical systems with building designs.
* Participate in meetings and provide technical expertise on system designs and project requirements.

**Technical Documentation**:

* Prepare detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications using software like AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
* Create cost estimates, material lists, and timelines for mechanical installations.

**Construction Oversight**:

* Monitor construction and installation processes to ensure that mechanical systems are installed correctly according to designs.
* Conduct inspections and tests to ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

**System Optimization**:

* Perform analysis to improve energy efficiency, optimize system performance, and reduce operational costs.
* Recommend and implement new technologies, materials, and best practices to enhance system efficiency and sustainability.

**Compliance and Safety**:

* Ensure all mechanical systems comply with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
* Conduct risk assessments and address safety concerns in the design and implementation of systems.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

* **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* **Experience**: Previous experience in building systems design within the AEC industry, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
* **Technical Proficiency**: Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
* **Knowledge**: Familiarity with energy efficiency standards like ASHRAE, LEED, and local building codes.
