Job Description

As a **Manufacturing Engineer II** in the Defense and Aerospace industry, your primary responsibility will be to develop and improve manufacturing processes and systems to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of defense and aerospace products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, in person and digitally, including design engineers, production personnel, and quality assurance, to optimize manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

**++Job Responsibilities:++**

* Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions to meet product specifications and quality standards
* Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety
* Collaborate with design engineers to ensure producibility and manufacturability of new products
* Support factory and production operations by diagnosing, repairing, and/or engineering solutions to product errors or defects.
* Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize production flow and reduce cycle times
* Evaluate manufacturing equipment and technologies, recommend suitable options, and oversee their integration into production lines
* Ensure equipment meets industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements
* Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
* Identify areas for improvement, implement process enhancements, and drive cost reduction, waste elimination, and quality improvement efforts
* Resolve production-related quality issues and implement preventive measures to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications

**++Required Qualifications:++**

* Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Typically requires 2+ years manufacturing engineering roles, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry
* Experience with manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, and testing
* Experience with industry standards and regulations, such as AS9100, ITAR, and NADCAP
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
* Experience leading a small teams through process-improvement initiatives and the engineering, diagnosis and repair of assigned products.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and solve non-linear problems
