Staff Software Engineer, Capacity Engineering

Job Description

Lead performance and efficiency initiatives for Pinterest’s large-scale infrastructure, including Kubernetes scheduling, resource overhead reduction, and multi-tenant resource isolation. Use profiling and performance tools to diagnose issues, partner with infrastructure and SRE teams to implement and validate improvements, and apply AI to accelerate investigations and build self-service efficiency tools.

Requirements: Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience, along with deep knowledge of infrastructure capacity, hardware and operating-system fundamentals, and large-scale distributed applications. They should have experience leading efficiency initiatives on Kubernetes or similar infrastructure, strong profiling and software development skills, cloud experience, excellent communication, and the ability to use and critically verify AI-assisted work.
