Staff Software Engineer (Search & Recommendations)

Job Description

Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient backend systems and services that support Warby Parker’s retail and e-commerce customer experiences. Guide engineering teams, promote effective technologies and practices, maintain high standards for code quality and testing, and monitor services to resolve issues and meet service-level agreements.

Requirements: Requires a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, and at least 7 years of professional software development experience. Candidates should have production experience scaling distributed backend systems, expertise in Golang, Python, or C#, strong AWS and system-design knowledge, and the ability to deliver complex projects autonomously while communicating across teams and mentoring others.
