Staff Software Engineer, Invoicing and Billing

Job Description

Design, build, test, and maintain Gusto’s billing platform, including usage jobs, subscriptions, orders, invoice generation, payments, reporting, and accounting integrations. Shape system architecture, lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, data, and design teams to deliver scalable commerce capabilities.

Requirements: Applicants typically have 8 or more years of software development experience, including experience building large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems and working on complex, multi-quarter projects. The role also calls for commerce or billing domain experience, ownership of performance and reliability, mentoring ability, effective communication, and experience with or interest in Ruby on Rails; AI tool experience is also expected.
