Lead the development and deployment of in-situ and ex-situ diagnostics to detect and quantify degradation in fusion-relevant materials and components. Define the diagnostics roadmap, validate methods through coupled-stimuli testing, integrate sensors and diagnostic outputs into hardware and predictive models, and communicate findings and recommendations across teams.
Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree with 10 or more years of experience, or a master’s or doctoral degree with at least 5 years, in materials science, materials engineering, applied physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field. Candidates need substantial experience in materials diagnostics, non-destructive evaluation, or structural health monitoring, along with data analysis, coupled-stimuli experiments, and sensor integration into structural materials.
