Lead the development and deployment of in-situ and ex-situ diagnostics to detect and quantify degradation in fusion-relevant materials and components. Translate failure risks into diagnostic requirements, validate methods through coupled-stimuli testing, integrate sensors into hardware and predictive models, and communicate results and recommendations across teams.
Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree with 10 or more years of experience, or a master’s or doctoral degree with at least 5 years, in materials science, materials engineering, applied physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field. Candidates must have relevant experience in materials diagnostics, NDE, or SHM; coupled-stimuli experiments; sensor integration into structural materials; and data analysis, with Python preferred.
