Staff Software Engineer – Core OS, Vehicle Compute

Job Description

Lead the architecture and development of GM’s vehicle-compute operating-system platform, including hypervisor and virtual-machine capabilities, guest operating systems, secure boot, container runtime, and platform health and fault-management services. Optimize and debug the virtualized stack, improve automated validation and release practices, and mentor engineers while collaborating across software, hardware, safety, and cybersecurity teams.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 10 years of embedded, systems, or kernel-level software development, including production experience in automotive or similarly complex embedded environments. Candidates need strong Arm SoC and operating-system expertise, experience with embedded build systems and system-level debugging, proficiency in C and C++ plus Python and shell scripting, and demonstrated technical leadership.
