Principal Software Development Engineer (Data Engineering)

Job Description

Build and operate data engineering capabilities for ingesting, discovering, governing, deriving, and serving data for Workday’s machine learning and agentic initiatives. Develop and deploy scalable services and data systems in collaboration with the team.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience, along with 10+ years in software engineering or distributed systems and 6+ years of proficiency in at least two of Java, Scala, and Python. Candidates should also have 6+ years in data engineering or a related field, cloud infrastructure experience, and experience with at least one major data engineering technology such as Spark, Iceberg, Avro, Kafka, or Flink.
