Staff Software Engineer, Replication Foundations

Job Description

Set technical direction and evolve Temporal’s open-source replication stack, leading the design, implementation, rollout, and operational support of replication protocols for high availability, cross-cluster and cross-region replication, and workload migration. Drive scalability and reliability initiatives, define system guarantees, guide technical roadmaps, collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to production incident response.

Requirements: Requires a strong track record designing and delivering complex production distributed systems, deep knowledge of replication and other distributed-systems fundamentals, and experience defining architecture and debugging complex production issues. Candidates should be proficient in production-quality concurrent Go programming and able to influence technical direction, communicate clearly, and mentor engineers; experience with replication protocols, multi-region systems, database internals, or open-source infrastructure is a plus.
