Evaluate materials in new and service-run gas turbine components using visual and non-visual methods, characterize microstructures and fracture surfaces, and participate in failure analysis. Communicate findings to customers, prepare technical reports and specifications, manage project schedules and budgets, and support product qualification, procurement, and material substitution.
Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Materials, Ceramics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 3–5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should understand failure analysis, metallurgy and degradation of steels, superalloys, and coatings, as well as materials testing and data analysis; manufacturing or laboratory experience and gas turbine coating knowledge are preferred.
