Senior Software Engineer, Plant Control

Job Description

Design, build, and maintain software for fusion plant control, diagnostics, automation, data acquisition, and operator workflows, including systems that interface with sensors, actuators, controllers, and other hardware. Collaborate across engineering, operations, and science teams to integrate and improve reliable, scalable control platforms and tools for Helion’s fusion generators and Orion power plant.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience, at least five years of professional software engineering experience, and demonstrated ownership of complex software projects. Candidates should have strong systems programming skills, experience with Python or a similar orchestration language, hardware-facing software experience, Linux proficiency, and the ability to develop, test, debug, and support software across its lifecycle.
