Lead, Mechanical Engineering

Job Description

Lead mechanical engineering work for low-SWaP EO/IR space payloads, including architecture, cryogenic optics, cryocoolers, mirrors and mounts, alignment, analysis, and integration into flight hardware. Guide engineering standards, budgets, proposal development, cross-functional coordination, and technology development to improve payload mass, cost, and performance.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with at least 9 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree with at least 7 years, or 13 years in lieu of a degree; also requires at least 5 years leading a technical team. Candidates need experience with government contracts and compliance, payload-level mechanical architecture, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; optical space payload, cryogenic optics, Creo, and proposal experience are preferred.
