Mechanical Engineer IV - Design

Job Description

Design and optimize mechanical systems for solid rocket motors, including actuators, pressure vessels, hot gas valves, and thrusters, using detailed trade studies and engineering analysis. Develop models and drawings, assess materials and manufacturing methods, support testing and systems engineering, and communicate technical recommendations.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline is required, though equivalent experience may be considered; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates need 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, and rocket motor design and testing experience is preferred; applicants must be U.S. persons, eligible for export authorizations, and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
