Senior Software Engineer, Core Virtualization Security

Job Description

Design and develop security hardening measures for the virtual machine monitor and virtualization nodes, and evolve the core VMM through low-level systems engineering. Provide technical leadership for major initiatives, collaborate across Google Cloud and Compute Engine teams, and resolve production issues while improving quality and reducing operational toil.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least five years of software development experience, three years testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and one year of software design and architecture experience. Candidates need Linux kernel programming, device bring-up, BSP, KVM, virtualization, operating systems, and security experience; preferred qualifications include a postgraduate degree, technical leadership, systems engineering, security architecture expertise, and strong C/C++, Python, or Rust skills.
