Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Overseer (Platform)

Job Description

Build and operate real-time systems that enforce financial correctness across Coinbase fund flows, including detection engines, invariant frameworks, and onboarding tools. Partner with teams to define correctness contracts, develop AI-powered guardrails, and ensure fund flows are covered by production integrity guarantees while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements: Requires 5+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems, ideally in financial systems, payments, reconciliation, or high-reliability transactional infrastructure, and proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Ruby, or Python. Candidates should have experience with platform infrastructure, end-to-end ownership, streaming data systems, distributed data stores, and responsible use of generative AI.
