Senior Software Engineer - Media API Platform

Job Description

Build and operate Bloomberg Media’s shared API platform, including federated GraphQL gateways, authentication and authorization, rate limiting, token management, and job scheduling. Lead API and graph design, improve reliability and performance through caching, testing, and observability, develop AI-assisted workflows and tooling, and collaborate with teams while mentoring engineers.

Requirements: Requires at least five years of experience building and operating production backend services, expertise in at least one of TypeScript/Node.js, Java, Kotlin, or Python, and a strong understanding of distributed systems and reliability. Candidates should have current experience using AI-assisted or agentic engineering tools, production debugging and observability skills, strong cross-team communication, and a record of mentoring or technical leadership; GraphQL, databases, IAM, AWS, and container deployment are preferred.
