The Jacobs School of Engineering seeks qualified applications to fill the position of Academic Coordinator, II (aka Systems Engineering Program Coordinator).
The Systems Engineering Program Coordinator will play a key leadership role towards creating the new undergraduate emphasis in Systems Engineering which will be available to all engineering students. This position will be responsible for reviewing current related curriculum for appropriate content, and then evolving these courses into appropriate curriculum for the program. Once established, this position will be responsible for managing the program and for integrating it into department curricula across all six departments within the Jacobs School. Courses will include:
o Business Management
o Budget Management
o Project Management
o Soft Skills
This position will manage current relationships with and recruit new industry partners as program participants/curriculum advisers and will develop/oversee an Industry Fellow program who will be expected to be deployed across all engineering departments to help students integrate into real-world environments during the Co-Op projects.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, business or related area.
o Experience in curriculum development and teaching
o Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, entrepreneurial experience in system design, and experience as a change-maker
o Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, faculty, and staff
o Proven business skills
o Demonstrated ability to work independently
o Exceptionally strong organizational skills
