Job Description



The Director, Process Control/Automation- Chemical participates as a member of the Senior Management Team to set the corporate direction by providing insight and experience to help shape company’s goals in the Chemical industry. This position reports to the VP of Operations. The Director, Process Control/Automation- Chemical plays an integral role of a Chemical Industry expert and drives the achievement of business plans, strategies and objectives while maintaining the company’s culture of success. Leads a group of Team Leaders and supports them in the areas of technical mentoring, employee development, training, and performance assessment. Responsible for the growth and success of their individual team, including, financial, client, process, and cultural goals. Creates a learning and development environment where knowledge sharing is prevalent. Guides client relationship management efforts in the Chemical industry while working closely with the Sales Team. Formulates strategy, implements plans and works to continuously expand Company’s footprint in the Chemical industry therefore creating alignment with the company mission and values.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Chemical Industry Leader responsibilities

·       Leads the creation of the Chemical Industry segment’s strategic plan and positions the organization for future success in the Chemical Industry

·       Leads the implementation of new technologies in a way that improves efficiencies, builds competitive advantage and/or increases our value in the Chemical industry market

·       Uses knowledge and understanding of the Company’s operational processes, market position, and competition to identify opportunities and clients and help meet our strategic objectives

·       Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of products, services, newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices

·       Showcases their individual talents with clients while presenting at conferences, in writing, or one-on-one with clients

·       Deliver Outcome Based Engineering (OBE) solutions to our customers to drive financial growth

·       Proven track record of success with the practical application of technical innovation and value creation

·       Stays abreast of shifts and trends in industry, to adapt and evolve our business. Supports thought leadership in the group

Minimum Qualifications:

·       BS in Engineering (Chemical/Computer Science/Information Technology/Electrical/ Electronic) or MBA preferred

·       Industry expertise in the Chemical industry

·       Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience within industrial system integration, engineering, or related field

·       Demonstrated experience effectively managing front line managers to achieve high performance and employee engagement

·       Strong ability to influence, develop and mentor

·       Proven ability to think long term, strategically, with emphasis on business strategy

·       Understanding of system integrator business model and best practices

·       Excellent verbal and communication skills
