Responsibilities

  • Initiate, design and manage major mechanical projects (e.g., new equipment installation and equipment modifications)
  • Work with plant personnel, vendors and contractors to resolve repetitive problems or improve equipment longevity or reliability
  • Support the Operations group to accomplish clean-outs, preventive maintenance downtimes and machine rebuilds in a timely, quality fashion
  • Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting equipment that requires additional technical knowledge or expertise
  • Maintain plant drawing system by making appropriate updates to drawings and documentation on equipment
  • Develop, organize, and maintain the Maintenance database in SAP
  • Create and close out Work Orders in the SAP system including Maintenance projects, PM routines and ISO calibrations
  • Print, distribute and tracks status of issued Work Orders, PM routines and ISO calibrations
  • Create, track status, and close out refurbishment orders


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in an Industrial Manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to manage and maintain Maintenance Department’s SAP database and other maintenance reports accurately and timely
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, including Plant Engineering, Process Engineers, Production Control, Purchasing, R&D and Corporate HSE
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and outside vendors
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced plant environment
  • Ability to work in a safety-conscious manner & ensure all safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity and provide creative solutions
  • Ability to work in a hands-on manner within an industrial environment
  • Ability to work extra hours as needed (emergencies, plant shut-downs, etc.)
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Knowledge of compressed air, hydraulic pneumatics, power transmission, pump systems and control schemes
  • Knowledge of industrial ventilation preferred
  • Knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of design software, including SolidWorks or CAD

Physical Demands:

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
