Position Summary:Plans, programs, designs, authors, coordinates, and supervises construction of building projects for clients according to their desires, needs, and financial resources.
Technical/Functional Responsibilities:•Researches, programs, plans, designs and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials within the clients budget•Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates all other discipline elements into unified design for client review and approval•Conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with Detailed Design Documents•May prepare client project presentations, studies, and reports•Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans•May direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project
#biaffederal Requirements:•U.S. Citizenship is required•TS/SCI w/ CI Poly required•7 years of professional design review experience•Bachelors Degree in Architecture•Registered Architect•Demonstrated relevant experience/expertise supporting U.S. Government in Architecture/Architectural Engineering, Counterintelligence, Law Enforcement, Logistics, and Security•Ability to recognize all relevant information and produce objective assessments, free of any bias and be pertinent to client needs•Extensive skills in both written and oral communications•Extensive architectural engineering skills, including construction analysis, with concentration on the IC and/or Department of State (DoS) In evaluating physical, technical, procedural, counterintelligence and countermeasures. Experience managing and applying processes I standards for secure Federal facility project planning, blocking and stacking, design; and construction•Thorough knowledge of DoS and IC security standards for secure construction, vaults, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, and Post Communication Centers•Demonstrated experience applying certification processes and authoring Congressional notification memos for facility design and construction under the DoS and the IC•Demonstrated experience using USACE ProjNet, DoS SMARTsearchMS SharePoint, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Tools•Demonstrated experience with design review digital viewers, including Autodesk DWG TrueView and Adobe XI Pro. Ability to perform periodic travel both domestically and overseas, as required•Strong written and verbal communications skills
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:•Ability to work independently and as part of project team•Experience Interpreting and applying DoS and JC correspondence, policy and technical publications (lCD 705, 12 FAH-5, 12 FAH, 6, Overseas Building Operations (080), International Code Supplements)•Project/Program Management Tracking experience•Demonstrated experience with State Department proprietary classified and unclassified project management systems, (ProjNet)•Demonstrated experience supporting the NCSE Center for Security Evaluation (CSE) Facility Construction Analysis
