Experis is currently looking for an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Engineer in Racine, WI!
We are looking for a Diagnostics Engineer to join our team by representing the Service perspective during all phases of product design & development. Person will help create technical publications for agricultural and construction vehicles and will be key resource in addressing Service-related questions and concerns from other departments and Company stakeholders. The position supports the definition and creation of diagnostic procedures to support the service network in the identification and resolution of fault codes and troubleshooting. The role requires the ability to fully understand complex electronics, schematics and know how about failures and symptoms, and diagnostic tools. Construction or agricultural machinery, or automotive world experience is required. The products and documentation involve a wide range of technologies, including a variety of electrical controls and sensors, large mechanical/automotive powertrain assemblies, touchscreen interfaces, automation and computer controls, and hydraulic systems. The role requires an ability to perform product research using various source files, bills of materials, engineering drawings, CAD models, and conversations with engineers and other stakeholders to pull together information for the manuals. This can also involve disassembling parts and vehicle assemblies in the shop, tracing fault code symptoms, and other hands on work to develop instructions and illustrations for the manuals.
- Prior exp doing diagnostics/troubleshooting within automotive, agricultural, heavy machinery industry
- Strong written communication
- Has done diagnostics with electronic control units or on-board vehicle diagnostic systems
- Familiar with Bill of Materials (BOMs), schematics, CAD drawings
- Experience using Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) to support vehicle electrical diagnostics
