We are seeking a Civil EIT to join our Rail and Transit Services Practice in our Boston, MA office. This position would be responsible for providing design, calculations and engineering services with the application of transportation system principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards. Responsibilities include performing various aspects of rail/transportation design using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
•Support Rail Project Manager and Engineers in developing project design documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various rail projects.
•Preparation of horizontal and vertical track alignments, design criteria, project guides and associated data.
•Preparing design calculations for project elements related to track and civil design.
•Reviewing various shop drawings and preparing preconstruction cost estimates for rail projects
•Assist in Field Inspections and Monitoring construction site for contract compliance and safety parameters.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required•At least 2 years design engineering experience in civil /transportation engineering on rail projects is required•Experience in horizontal and vertical alignment is desirable•Working knowledge of AREMA and local railroad criteria desired•Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation InRail is desired•Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)•Experience working in a team atmosphere to deliver multidisciplined projects.•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Strong time management and attention to detail•EIT is required
