Job Description

The Environmental Technician coordinates, implements, executes tasks and maintains plant specific programs to achieve environmental compliance goals and objectives and to maintain the license to operate. They will be reporting to the Site / Production Leader.

The Environmental Technician will increase individual awareness and accountability for environmental requirements, by providing a subject matter expertise and coaches plant personnel on environmental responsibilities, goals and the effective application of EH&S Work Processes.

Main Responsibilities:
Implements detailed, task level, day to day environmental programs, utilizing the Environmental work process, standards and procedures.
Ensures that the environmental aspects of Operating Discipline are applied to achieve environmental performance goals. Will be a leader for the Environmental section of Operating Discipline.
Acts as the Plant resource for related environmental information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
Plant contact for environmental issues.
Coaches teams and individuals on environmental related tasks and activities.
Assists in developing and achieving area or plant Environmental goals.
Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
Performs / coordinates certain environmental monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
As required participates in the environmental related reviews and projects.
Coordinates the schedules for audits in the Environmental related areas
As required conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences.
Creates and submits required environmental reports for the agencies. Acts as the Agency Visit Focal point for the plant. Coordinates and participates in all Environmental Agency visits
