Conrad Yelvington Distributors supplies and distributes aggregate materials such as granite, river gravel, limestone, natural sand, and more. This rail served aggregate distribution network covers Florida, Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, and Alabama.
This position is responsible for inspecting, rebuilding, and repairing freight cars consistent with AAR standards and requirements.

Inspection: Inspect railcars for defects. Ensure safety devices are secured and in serviceable condition
Rebuilding, Repairing, and Maintaining: Repair or replace air brake, car body, underframe, interior/exterior components. To accomplish these tasks, the Railcar Welder uses hand tools, cutting torches and welding equipment, forklifts, and various pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic tools. Railcar Welder also documents all maintenance, time worked, and material used via company and AAR forms.
Leads a team of Welders and Welders Helpers in the Shop.

- High School diploma or GED is preferred
- 5 to 10 years welding experience
- Directly related experience in the rail industry is preferred
- MIG and Stick welding experience is required. Aluminum welding experience is preferred
- Must be able to comply with the requirements of AWS D15.1 “Railroad Welding Specification for Cars and Locomotives”
